To the North Of Mareham-le-fen The old Roman town of Horncastle
Now a thriving market town who's modern claim to fame is its antique shops it now has more antique shops than anywhere else in Lincolnshire as well as (Junk shops) the results of house clearance ,in the past it was a Roman walled fort parts of which still remain
At the time of the Crimean war it held the biggest horse fair in europe and horses bought at these fairs was used by both sides

Boston
Famous in the past for its massive sheep markets and as a port second only to London Now its port is no longer as important as it was to the local economy although it is still very much a working port, unfortunately most of its inshore fishing fleet has gone.
Boston is still home to a market each Wednesday and Saturday, the church of St Botolphs (Boston Stump) still attracts visitors from all over the world and any visitor who is reasonably fit can climb the tower (365 steps) from where you can see over the town and surrounding fens ,visit the web site at www.parish-of-boston.org.uk
