Only 1 mile away is the village of Revesby with its spire church  a village built round a green in the old tradition of villages this is the home of the Stanope family since the conquest, as you drive along the main road you may miss the village on the right hand side but you will not miss the Red Lion on the left followed by a pair of round barrows then a park full of deer

At the old aerodrome which is reputedly the most haunted airfield in Britain,there is an air museum with its control tower and a Lancaster bomber (Lady Jane)which while not airworthy taxis on the runway and on some occasions a full air raid enactment is carried out 3 miles further on you join the A16 turning left up the hill you enter the village
